COMM 421: Case Study

For Communication & Conflict Management (COMM 421), we were prompted to develop a case study analysis. "Shallow Talk & Separate Spaces" by Sandra Metts, is a case study about a couple who had a huge conflict about how they act within their relationship. This conflict resulted in resentment, avoidance, and negative tension until they were able to come together and resolve their issue. Through my analysis, I discuss their goals, conflict styles, destructive conflict patterns, and suggestions on how they should have gone about their conflict.
